Society partners
Last updated 25 October 2026
Who can be a society partner
Student societies, clubs and similar groups recognised by a UK university or students' union. We agree each partnership by email with a committee member who can speak for the society, and we may decline a society or end a partnership at our discretion.
Your link and code
We give your society a link (getonit.mobi/yourname) and a code. New GetOnIt customers who join through either get £5 off their first month on any plan, taken off at checkout. After that their plan carries on at its normal price unless they cancel. The offer is for people who have not had a GetOnIt plan before, each person can only use one code, and it cannot be combined with a friend's invite discount. There is no limit on how many members can use your code.
What your society earns
£5 for each new customer who joins with your link or code, once their first payment has gone through and their 14-day cooling-off period has ended. If that payment is refunded, the £5 for that member no longer counts; if we have already paid it, the difference comes off your next payment. People who sign up and cancel before paying earn nothing.
We never tell you who your members are or share their details: your statement shows counts and amounts only.
How we pay
On the 1st of each month we email your society's statement. When £20 or more is owed, we pay it that month by bank transfer to the account your society tells us, usually the students' union account that holds society funds, with the reference you choose. Smaller amounts carry over. If your union asks for an invoice or a form, send it to us and we will use it. Payments go to the society, never to an individual committee member's own account.
Your society is responsible for recording the payments in line with its union's rules. They are sponsorship income for the society.
Promoting GetOnIt
- Say that your society receives a payment for each member who joins, for example on posts and flyers (our flyer already says so).
- Follow your students' union's rules on sponsorship, stalls, posters and emailing members.
- Never say or suggest that GetOnIt is endorsed by your university, or use its name or logo.
- Stick to the facts on getonit.mobi: prices, allowances and the offer. Don't invent other discounts.
- Don't post your link or code on voucher, coupon or cashback sites, and don't aim it at under-18s.
- Don't sign people up yourselves, create accounts, or pay or reward people to join.
Ending the partnership
Your society can stop at any time by telling us. We may end a partnership at any time, and will say why. When it ends, your link and code stop giving a discount. We still pay what your society has earned, less anything taken back for refunds, as long as we can pay an account in the society's name.
Changes
We may change or end society partnerships, including the amounts. If we do, we will say so on this page and email partner societies; what your society has already earned is paid on the terms that applied when it was earned.
